Julia Uffizi

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

My name is Julia Uffizi, and I’m an artist.

My art is fierce and strong, as much as I am. I became invincible while making my way to the light, right out of all the darkness being born and raised at the edge of civilization. I was never matched to my surroundings; I was superfluous, too active, overly hustling. I kept being silent outside and holding the raging hurricane on the inside for so long. I have been burning since I remember. I learned how to sublimate this energy and tame the chaos. That’s how art became my language.

I put everything into my dream and I won. I became a full-time artist. And now that my dream has come true, I'm exploring what it's like to be what I have aspired to be for so long. I study the nature of inspiration using scientific research and art history. I track my mood during various manifestations of creativity, during fullness and emptiness, and fix it in my paintings.

I’m inspired by women, Vrubel, abstract art, anatomy, anime, science, and my synesthesia. I absolutely love the era we’re living in because it gives me the freedom to combine it all. I believe metamodernism is ideal for me, and I want to express my gratitude by creating and unfolding within it.

I also just love new technology, I love the NFTs, and I love being a discoverer here. I'm so excited to be here on this long road full of adventures. And I’d really be happy to be featured in the POWERHOUSE gallery, to be in the front row of powerful and determined women, the discoverers and builders of a new era.

What would be your dream superPOWER? 

Can I say immortality? If I can, this is my choice! I would NEVER get tired of living and exploring new things! I’d become a microbiologist, neurobiologist, anthropologist, archeologist, historian, cosmologist…etc! 

There is so much that needs to be explored, and I have just one small human life where I chose to be the best artist I’m able to become! I’ve decided that this will be my main focus, with a bit of sticking my nose here and there in other disciplines. So unfair! 

So if I were immortal, I could have as many lives as I wanted and become a specialist in all disciplines possible, helping many people with my skills.

Julia's artworks explode with colour, are magical and full of energy. The expressive and organic shapes create a pull on the viewer that you cannot escape.
